Yesterday, 7/3/2023, finally the new revision of NBR 14725 - Chemical products - Information on safety, health and environment - General aspects of the Globally Harmonized System (GHS), classification, SDS and labeling of chemical products was published .
The document underwent a long review process by the ABNT/CB-10 (Chemistry) committee and was put to the vote at the ABNT National Consultation in October/22 for the last time.
This is an official technical standard for dealing with the Safety Data Sheet - FDS, the former FISPQ, referenced in Regulatory Standard 26 of - Safety Signs.
What are the main changes?
1 - All its content is presented in a single part, no longer in 4 parts, much longer (521 pages!) and complete than the previous version;
2 - Content based on the seventh revision of the GHS - Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals;
3 - The MSDS is now called FDS - Safety Data Sheet.
What impact for your company?
All labels and SDS's (former MSDS) must be updated within 24 months of publication (07/03/2025).
